In Museums

HARMONY AND DISSONANCE: ORPHISM IN PARIS, 1910-1930

08 NOV, 2024 - 09 MAR, 2025

Featuring over 90 artworks to be presented in the museum’s iconic rotunda, this major exhibition will examine the vibrant abstract art of Orphism. It will explore the transnational movement’s developments in Paris, addressing the impact dance, music, and poetry had on the art, among other themes.

EVERY WHICH WAY - RICHARD SERRA

David Zwirner is pleased to present Every Which Way, a major installation from 2015 by Richard Serra (1938–2024), at the gallery’s 537 West 20th Street space in New York.


Every Which Way (2015) comprises sixteen vertical panels of weathering steel, each measuring six feet wide and twelve inches thick. These stand at varying heights of either seven, nine, or eleven feet tall and are arranged in a staggered grid formation that spans the exhibition space.

BEYOND FACE VALUE

More than meets the eye in Beyond Face Value, a group exhibition of paintings, sculptures ,photographs, works on paper, ceramics, textiles, and mixed-media works by eight contemporary artists that challenge traditional assumptions about portraiture. Moving beyond a surface reading, the works on view address themes surrounding belief systems, cultural heritage, and the current political climate along with the realms of fantasy, memory, inner turmoil, and self-expression.

LIGHTSCAPE

The after-dark, illuminated trail returns to Brooklyn Botanic Garden with brand new works of art, taking visitors on an otherworldly nighttime journey through light-splashed landscapes and luminous installations specially curated for BBG.
