1. Fire Island Artist Residency (FIAR) 2025 Summer Season
Location: Cherry Grove, Fire Island, New York
Eligibility: Emerging LGBTQ+ artists

Fire Island Artist Residency (FIAR), the first residency in the United States exclusively for artists identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, intersex, two-spirit or queer, annually accepts applications for its prestigious and internationally recognized summer program. Now in its 15th season in the secluded beach community of Cherry Grove, NY, an historic LGBTQ settlement of Fire Island, emerging artists will share a live/work space for a four-week program marked by intimate studio visits with, and public lectures by, renowned leaders in contemporary art, scholarship, activism and curation. 2. Works & Process Open Call for ResidenciesNYC Art Opportunities
Location: New York City, New York
Eligibility: NYC-based artists creating movement-based work
Application Deadline: April 22, 2025

Works & Process is holding its first-ever open call for applications. NYC artists who create movement-based work are invited to apply for a residency to start a new project or continue developing an existing work in one of our week-long, out-of-town residencies. The residency package includes industry-leading fees of $150 per artist/per day (up to $8,400 for a maximum of 8 participants), 24/7 studio access, on-site housing, a transportation stipend, and health insurance enrollment access. In partnership with 92NY Dance Education Lab, a dance pedagogy workshop for the artists can be included during the residency upon request. Each residency will culminate in an open rehearsal or showing for the local community. The projects will also be considered for Works & Process presentation in New York City. Applications will be accepted from March 18- April 22, 2025 at 5pm EST or until the submission limit of up to 250 applications is reached. We will award at least five residencies, which will take place between October 2025 - May 2026.

3. Martin House Creative Residency Program
Location: Buffalo, New York
Eligibility: Individuals from multiple disciplines
Application Deadline: May 9, 2025

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House’s Creative Residency Program provides individuals from multiple disciplines a thought-provoking environment for two to four weeks in which to produce new works. The Artist Program supports the development and presentation of creative works as they relate to Martin House. The Researcher Program provides opportunities to conduct research that will lead to published texts or projects in various fields, again as they relate to Frank Lloyd Wright and Martin House. Residents will receive a stipend of $5,000. Travel expenses of up to $1,000 will also be provided to residents who are from outside the Buffalo-Niagara region.

4. The Wassaic Project Artist Residency
Location: Wassaic, New York
Eligibility: Artists working in all mediums
Application Deadline: June 02, 2025

The Wassaic Project is a non-profit artist-run arts, community and art education space in Wassaic, New York founded in 2008 that curates exhibitions, produces community events and hosts artist residencies. Currently it consists of a year-round competitive residency program and year round arts programming.The Wassaic Project offers residents 24-hour access to studio spaces, accommodations, and opportunities to engage with the local community. Facilities include a print shop, wood shop, and ceramics studio.
