The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze Opens a Second New Location in Long Island, NY

How many of us have memories of carving pumpkins for Halloween - picking the perfect pumpkin, choosing the favorite design to carve and scooping out the guts while admiring the parents' efforts with the knife that when little, we were not allowed to try and replicate? Definitely a great tradition that is a must to do every Halloween for the young and the less young!

Now imagine a beautiful and magical walk through an elaborate Halloween fantasy which activates all these familiar memories: the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze.

The Great Jack O' Lantern is a walk-through experience of thousands of illuminated hand-carved pumpkins at two different locations: Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson and Old Bethpage Village Restoration in Old Bethpage.

This Blaze has been one of the favorite attractions for years now during Halloween season. It is inevitable when walking through the lanterns not only to remember the happy memories of carving pumpkins, but also to admire sculpted pumpkins that are beyond words. There are about 7,000 pumpkins and each of them is hand-carved! It feels like being in a magical garden with magical sculptures and atmospheres. Some of the pumpkins are so detailed, others picture unicorns, ghosts, spooky creatures and funny and cute faces, the Statue of Liberty... sculptures of art of any sort and creativity.

This year the spectacular Jack O' Lantern Blaze will open its doors at a second new location in Long Island.

There are installations that honor the new location like a Long Island lighthouse and a lunar module.

Also new for 2020 are a fire truck and witches stirring up a spell. There is also the Museum of Pumpkin Art, where classic paintings meet the magic world of pumpkins. Visitors can see the Pumpkin Carousel twirl, the Pumpkin Windmill whirl and step inside the Pumpkin Planetarium.

The blaze will open on October 2nd and will end on November 1st at both locations.

The Blaze has also an official soundtrack. Blaze: The Soundtrack, Volume I and II both feature more than 60 minutes of music from, about, and inspired by the Blaze. This soundtrack was created by recording artist, radio personality and Halloween fanatic Richard Christy. You’ll hear all original music throughout the experience as well as being able to bring the sounds home with you.

During this new era with Covid-19 The Blaze is open and taking all the required precautions to maintain the venue safe and to follow the health regulations. Masks are required all the time.
